What sites besides touring plans are good for faxing in room requests if you don't have a fax machine?

The online Disney reservation site has a place to input a room preference. That is probably the fastest way and you don't have to bother with a lengthy hold when you call Disney. Fax would not be my preference as it is too easy to get lost and may never get input to your reservation. Does Disney even still accept fax for room preference?

Are you referring to online check-in? If so, online check-in offers generic requests that a person can check off such as "near elevator" or "ground floor". There's not a free form box to type in, so a person should call to have it noted on their reservation if they want to request anything more specific.

My anecdotal experience is that my room requests have not been honored when I called ahead to make the requests myself, but they always have been when I've used the TouringPlans feature.

We always make our room request when making our reservation and they have almost always been granted. I have been told by several cast members over the years that they try to fill requests on a first come/first served basis. So someone who has had their request in for months, would get it ahead of someone who askes a few days before. They try their best to help everyone, but it is not possible. Add the request to your room reservation ASAP.

FYI....Rooms used to be assigned by the staff at the hotel a few days prior...hence the reason people sent faxes. Since reopening, this no longer occurs. Room assigning is now done by someone not even at the resort. Faxing would be a waste of time.

May also be available during online check-in, but I am referring to is something we did ahead of time on our reservation. There was a drop-down box with various choices. The more specific your requests, the less likely they will be satisfied. We got the type of room we requested using this feature during our last visit.

Not if you want to request something along the lines of a room number or something.

Make any requests the same way you made your reservation. If you booked your own points via DVC, you contact MS. If you booked a DVC stay on rented points, the owner of the points will need to make a request for you. If you booked for cash through Disney Reservation Center or online, call Disney Reservation Center to add a request.
