Am I missing something?

When I do the online check in there is no place to make requests other than a couple check box options.

Do you call to make specific things like close to bus stops, specific rooms and all the stuff dis people recommend requesting?

You are not missing something. For most resorts, online check in is very limited in what you can request. That is why it has always been, and still is, best to call and have any room requests added to your reservation.

If you have room requests, call and have them added to your reservation before your room is assigned, which happens five days before your arrival date.

For my upcoming trip to Yacht Club, I called and had requests added to my room a month before. I will then call a week before and make sure they are still there.

Keep in mind it is best only to make a few requests. If you make a bunch, the room assigner will have no idea what you really want.

Requesting First Floor Close to a Bus Stop is fine. Requesting First Floor North Facing Close to a Bus stop and Close to the Food Court With One Tree to the left of the Window and a Glimpse of the Water When You Look Right is not good.

Also, list your requests in the order of importance. And remember they are truly just request, there is no guarantee you will get any of them met. I've gotten maybe 50% of my requests.

We have never done online check in, but I agree with the others that I would call to make your requests.

Make your requests general, such as near elevator, ground floor, close to lobby, etc. If you request room 2145 the room assigner has no idea why you want that specific room. The chances of that room being available for your check in date are slim so if it is already occupied and the room assigner doesn't know why you want it you could end up anywhere in the resort.
