I know this question gets asked every so often but I never remember the answer: I know the desk won't promise to honor a room request but will make note of it.

Whom do you call? The CRO? Or WL directly?

When you make the reservation ask the C.M. your requests and to put it on your file. About a week before we leave I always phone all hotel,car, air and any other reservations to reconfirm ressies and requests. Your hotel reservations will have it on your file and it will be noticed at the front desk when checking in.

If this is a points stay, you need to contact MS with your room requests. If you booked on cash directly through Disney, contact CRO with your room requests. DVC resorts ask that all requests be on the reservation and not to fax or call with special requests. The front desk won't be assigning you a room anyway. The room assigner will do that a few days ahead of time based on your requests. And you are correct, requests are only requests and are not guaranted.
