No, for room requests you must either call or send an email to add them

Actually, DVC News posted an article today that room requests now have been expanded in the online check-in options.

Previously, there were only 2 options or so, "Near transportation" and "Ground Floor", but now you can request specific areas, floors etc. There is a limit of 2 locations requests.

Earlier this week I did an online booking for OKW GV; then I sent an email with a building request. They emailed back and said it was in the record. There is an online option for GV near HH, but there was no availability for my dates, so I took the other GV option.

No. What has happened is that on-line check-in now has a feature for providing requests. It gives a list of common requests for a resort but members may still have different ones that they can call in to MS.

You can still make requests at time of reserving the room or anytime after through MS. The on-line check-in system is an alternative not a replacement for contacting MS. What you cannot do yet is book your room on-line and make requests when doing so. Thus, after you have booked on-line, you should call or email to add requests.
