Room Requests at Paradise Pier Hotel?

We will be staying at Paradise Pier Hotel for our first trip to Disneyland while celebrating my 30th birthday and running the Pixie Dust Challenge in May. We have a standard room booked, but are there any certain room requests you could recommend that we should make? Higher floor? Certain wing? Thank you!

No advice for you but watching this thread...
I have a standard room booked for 8 nights at PP and wondering what type, if any, requests I should make?

Or might change our reservation to the DL hotel standard room but the difference is $800 ($100 per night) and since our CDN dollar isn't doing so well, i'm not sure if we can afford the extra $$

We have stayed at the DL hotel before and hope we aren't disappointed with PP esp b/c we have a few "pool" days and our 5 year old loves pools/slides!
