room requests at HHI?

I was just doing my online check-in for HHI, and I had a choice of 2 room requests: marsh view, and island view. I requested marsh view last year for my first trip there so I have an idea of what that is. But what does island view actually mean? Thanks!

That's the 'internal' view or wooded view. Those balconies face the paths you use to walk around the resort.

Thanks! I'm not the OP (although I am a math geek too), but I never knew that (and after 13 stays at HHI, I thought I knew a lot about the resort). Fortunately, I always call MS and give our requests, and they've always been met (except our first stay). However, we stay in a 1 BR, and since there aren't many of those, it's not hard to meet our requests!

That would depend on what your needs are.

There are 5 one bedrooms that are in the same buildings as the Grand Villas. These can have island view or marsh view.

Or if you need an elevator, the rest of the one bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors of Live Oak Lodge (where check in and Big Murgies Den are), Buildings 11 and 12.

In summer, if you don't want a lot of sun on your balcony in the afternoon, island view is shady.
Other times, you may want that sun.

I would say there are positives to each location, such as elevator, parking, sunny, shady, distance to the pool, so whatever you get, you will enjoy.
