Make your room requests w/ MS not online. The online check in requests are generic & sometimes don’t even apply to the resort you’re staying at. If you are staying on your own points I find it easiest to just email DVC w/ my room location/view requests. Some folks use DVC chat as well. If you are renting points ask the owner to email, chat or call DVC for you w/ your requests.
Generally the fewer requests you make the more likely you’ll get them, but BCVs are so small & always near 100% occupancy that it’s just not possible to fulfill everyone’s requests, I always hope for the best/expect the worst w/ requests - good luck!

I always email my requests, I give them 5 or 6 room numbers. I also send a touring plans. I leave online checkin requests blank. I’ve been fairly successful, got a nice park view earlier this month at VGC. Didn’t work at BLT in September, I had put down room numbers on 8 and 9 facing MK (lake view), they gave me 2nd floor, which was barely a lake view. I went to the desk and they moved me to the lake side on the 9th floor, it was beautiful.

I think it depends on what you prefer at BC. My first trip there I was close to the elevator to the quiet pool, but was on the Epcot side of the resort. After sunset the balcony, while huge (studio room I think 401) was really dark and not very inviting. There was an obstructed view of the fireworks through the trees.
I was much happier this time being on the pool side of the resort, the balcony was more usable to me as it was lit by the lights of the pool and walkway.
Remember a request is just that, no guarantee. I've now had one room request fulfilled (near elevator) after 15 plus years as a DVC member.

I always request a ground floor room or a room near the elevator, because I am never in my room. You might want to ask for a room away from the pool, though , if you children that nap.
