Room Request Question

I totally get this, but I first bought in a couple of years before Covid, and kind of got used to waiting an hour or more on hold just to talk to someone. I realize that it's a lot better now, but I'm still in the habit of using Chat, although I agree the reason for the habit is obsolete at this point.

I placed my latest room requests by chat. Super easy. They confirmed my request was in. Let’s see what happens. I know it’s just request

I'll use chat for our requests whenever I can find it available. Otherwise I might call and wait if the queue isn't very long. And yes, it's just a request!! But we've been happy with the general meeting of our requests more than we're not- so we keep trying!

Same here-as usual, the CM said the usual "it's a request, not a guarantee but..." then she said something about pixie dust.

Well, this doesn't really answer any of the questions about why a MS chat room request showed-up on MDE, but I did end up with a 5th floor room at Kidani last weekend. So our purposely-vague room request of a high floor was granted.

As to why it showed-up on MDE this one time and usually doesn't - still have no clue

I honestly missed that part of your question in your op. I've done many DVC reservations over the years and always contact MS for a general room location - but have never seen that request show up in MDE. I just checked upcoming reservations where I know I have certain requests on the reservations, but do not see anything in MDE. I wish I did!

Is it in there as part of the room reservation, or is it a separate NOTE that can be added for things that normally don't populate on their own? Interesting!

So on MDE, on the pre-check-in list, there is a "room Request" drop-down list. I hgave literally never used that before, and it's always been blank before. But this time, I just happened to be rechecking my check-in on MDE last week, and noticed that it said "Higher Floor" pre-chosen, even though I never chose it on there. I dunno....
