I have become intrigued with the Music resort. The rooms have all been redone and they look pretty nice. I really don't want to have to pay for a preferred room but I will if need be. Could someone tell me what would be a good room request? I am looking for something non pool facing and quiet. I would like to be close to the bus stop and food court too. I don't ask for much do I?:rotfl2: Also, if any of you have also stayed at POFQ, what is the size comparision to the Music? Let's say for instance I we were put in the back area of the resort how long of a walk would it be to the food court? Thanks in advance for your answers!

Request 'Jazz Inn', blds. 2 and 9. They are the next best after 'Calypso', which is the preferred bldgs.

The Music is wonderful! We were there in July and I can tell you the "new" rooms are awesome!

As for room requests, this year they put us in room 1401 of the Calypso (we always pay for preferred) and it was great! It was first floor, on the corner under the Calypso "keyboard" entryway. I left my room, went under the sign and was at the pool! We didn't have any noise problems at night, but they do play the pool music kinda loud during the day and you could hear the bass thumping.

Normally we request third floor, back side of building and we get it every time. This year my parents were with us with reserved wheelchairs and they were given a king/handicap room (room 1403) so that may be why we were on the first floor.

You lucky dog to be going there...wish I was going back myself!

I am going in August and have requested Jazz. I have read on the boards that it is a good choice.

I was thinking the Jazz Building too. However, I know that request are not guaranteed, so should I just pay for preferred? I really don't want to be close to the pool though because of noise. I thought the Broadway section looked nice too. What do you think? I just don't want to get stuck way in the back and it be a long walk to the food court. We really enjoyed POFQ last year because my dh would go to the food court in the mornings and bring breakfast back to our room and nothing was far there. I just wanted to stay cheaper next time.

We stayed in Music last year when we went and we were put in the Jazz building, that was before I knew about requesting rooms....so I guess that we were lucky. 3rd floor and it was VERY peaceful. We had an almost 1 year old and she was able to nap and everything. Close to food and pool and busses but far enough away that we did not get the pool noise. :)

I always pay for a preferred location.
I like knowing I will be close to the main pool .food court and bus stop.

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned hotel.

Please see my info thread for the reasons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

I stayed at ALL Star Music in March 07in Rock Inn section. That wasn't bad either. The walk to the food court was maybe 5 minutes depends on how fast you walk. I found it quiet, even though we had cheerleaders in the area. We were on the 2nd floor. It's a nice resort.

I'm hoping and praying I can go next year, I'm just trying to find a friend that can go with me. I'd like to go in january because I'll be turning 21. I'm hoping if i go, I'll stay at Music or Pop.

I'm staying at AS Music Sept 29th-Oct 7th. I went ahead and just booked a preferred room, because I didn't want to worry about being way out in the Country Fare building. I dont mind walking at the parks, but at night when I come 'home' I want in the closest building from the bus stop.
