I have never requested anything special in all the years we have been going to Disney; I normally do not care where we are located.

This is what I am going request because of needs this year.

There are three familes going. We know we will be on the 5th floor at AKL because of the deluxe savannah room.

1. Zebra Trail
2. One room with queen and bunks (two teenagers of opposite sex.
3. Second room with king (and crib) connecting with anytype of room.

We would like the rooms to be close to each other.

Thanks for any advice,

Kathy

Did you have these requests noted on your original reservations? If not, I would call CRO and ask them to make note of these requests and then follow up with a fax 3 days before your arrival. I needed connecting rooms when I went. But we were two different families, with two different reservations, so it was a little more difficult to do. I actually called the resort 2 days before to double-check. If you let them know you are all traveling together and what your basic needs are, they are usually quite helpful. Hope it all works for you and have a great trip. Don't forget to let us all know how it went, when you get back.

Thanks,

In looking at our reservations we did request connecting rooms with our daughter but not a queen and bunks for our BIL and family. I am gooing to call them now.

Are you kidding??? lol

For the price they charge your requests are minimal! I think they are very reasonable and hope they comply, you certainly are not asking for anything difficult or unreasonable.

I hear they are phenomenal at the AK and I am sure they will do everything they can to accomodate you!

HAVE FUN!

Hi there...

I am sure they will do the best they can to meet your requests ~ you seem to understand that it is only a request and is not guaranteed.

I have often heard of bunk rooms connecting to queen bedded rooms but I have never heard of the bunks connecting to a king room (although they may have them)

King rooms are few and far between ~ I hope you will be happy with a 2 queen room if thats all they have. I noticed there was playpen in the closet when I was there ~ is this good for your little one?

Last question ~ do your rooms really need to connect? or can they be adjoining or near each other?

Good Luck ~ I hope everything works out perfectly.

The reason we would like connecting rooms is if the kids go out at night we will stay back and baby-sit for Nathan. It would just be a convience for us to open the door between. If I had to go back between rooms and he was sleeping I would have to pick him up. If we don't get them it will never ruin our trip.

They wanted a King because there is a very good chance that Nathan will not sleep in a strange bed and if they had a king he could always sleep between them more comfortably. They will not be upset at all if they get two queens, they will just not have a lot of room with a 10 month in bed with them. He is teething right now and has not been sleeping very much for them this past week.

We are hoping they break through this week to help relieve some of the pain.

It will without any doubt be our best trip in the 27 years we have been going.

Wow ~ that sounds like a great trip.

We stayed on the 5th floor Kudu trail which is the same savanna view (Arusha) as on Zebra and it was amazing.

I am sure AKL will help you ~ especially with the children being along and you having 3 rooms!

Take care ~ have a great trip,

I would contact them with all your requests, but be clear about what is most important as well. For example: I would assume that the view and the connecting rooms would be most important. I went down with my young daughter and had thought I'd want a king bed as well - but it worked out better for us to get the two beds. AFter all that walking at the parks it is nice for at least ONE of the parents to get a good night's sleep, right? The little one will be fine sleeping with just one parent - and after they fall asleep, if so desired, the parent can move over to the other bed with spouse..........it worked well for us. Most important to me would be a great view and that connecting door for grandma....hmmm....on second thought being on vacation and hoping for a little "snuggle" time with my parents or his right on the other side of the wall might put a damper on things.....so I guess I might be fine dropping off the little one at your room - oh, now I am the one asking for too much now! ASK whatever your heart desires on this room thing....and have a wonderful time! I'd love to go to Disney with my mom and daughter....maybe someday soon!

Nathans Grandma:

I think your requests are fine (Definatly not too much to ask for as LoriZH said), but I think you may have trouble with that king room connecting to the bunk room.

If you could I would try to call 3-4 days in advance to speak with someone - it is possible as we just did on our last trip.

I think after reading everything I am not going to request the King bed for them. I called and they can put rails on the queen bed. That way the two rooms that connect can be anything and the bunk room will be for our BIL and family.

Ashley's mom,

They could give us Nathan every single night and we would keep him. My goal in life was to be a grandma and he always comes first in anything we do.

Thanks for all the advice!
