Room recommendation for VWL?

I am very excited about staying here next year, and am hoping some VWL experts could share their experiences with room locations. I am not a "view snob" by any means - would just like to make sure I don't have a view of the parking lot or the garbage dumpsters.

Also - does it make a difference if we're in a 1 bedroom vs. a 2 bedroom? Do they separate these villas by floor or are they interspersed? Been trying to find a good map with this info and just haven't spotted one out there.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Most of the rooms have a woods view. None have a parking lot view, but you might see the tops of the bus stop. A few have the pool view and fewer still have a slight view of the lake through the trees. There is a thread somewhere with the room numbers and locations.

I usually request an upper floor with a lake view as this is my favorite and I get it more often then not. If I remember right odd number rooms face the lake, even number rooms face the back woods, Odd number rooms on the first floor won't have a view of the lake, but you will be able to walk around outside you patio in the "woods" which is still nice. All the room sizes are interspersed through the floors. Rooms on the 5th floor however have an enclosed balcony - not slats so you need to be standing up to see out. I can't remember any of the room number that I had that were really good. I should start keeping track - next time!

We have small children (aged 1 and 3) so we usually request ground floor rooms to avoid the balcony climbing consideration. That being said, we bought in 2001 at VWL with no kids...

I usually request a room further from the trash room and ideally not at the far end overlooking a dumpster. Outside of that, just about every room has it's good and bad points but they are mostly good. VWL is my favorite place to stay on-property. It's the perfect place inside the magic where you can feel that you're not in a park.
