Do rooms exist that hold 9 people? A suite would be an option, or grand villa, or some such thing.

There will be 5 adults, 3 kids, and 1 infant. They would prefer to stay at the Boardwalk. Has anyone ever stayed at thw BWV Grand Villa before?

Also, does anyone know when WDW Travel is able to book in the BWV for the 2006 season? The CM i spoke to said that the rates werent released yet and thought February sometime... Anyone have any ideas?

You might want to look into renting points from a BWV owner. It would be a lot cheaper than paying cash. Head on over to the DVC boards and see what they have to say. They can't book until 11 months before their check-out date but it's worth a shot to just check it out.

We had the same party--5 adults, 3 kids, 1 infant, and we got a 2 bdrm suite at the GF (Sugar Loaf building).

The suite had two bedrooms, one with two double beds, one with a king bed (crib and full size rollaway bed were added to this room) and the extra adult slept on the pull out sofa in the living area.

Those suites have 3 full bathrooms--it was so easy to get everyone ready in the morning, and the suite never felt crowded--it also has 2 balconies.

We really loved it--I highly recommend it...buy you will PAY for the priviledge! Suites are never discounted, ever, so you will pay rack rate...which is obscene to begin with!

oops sorry guys...disregard this...it's in the wrong thread! LOL

I do understand your situation however I do not think Disney was trying to discriminate against those with larger families when they built the value resorts. They were trying to make their resorts affordable for everyone. Before these resorts were built a family of 4 or less had no choice but to stay in a moderate or deluxe regardless of their budget. I guess a person staying at a value resort could ask why they do do not have waterslides or hot tubs. You know what I mean? I think Disney is doing their best to accommodate all but it doesn't always work. JMO No flames please as I do understand the problems for larger families.

Just wanted to add another point! LOL They do also have the cabins available for up to 6 people and although they are more expensive to stay in you can save a bundle of money eating in. So I think they have covered their bases pretty well.

Ahhh, this is true everywhere except for my favorite deluxe Disney hotel - the Dolphin (and the Swan). We stayed in a 2 bedroom executive suite at the Dolphin over this past Christmas, and already have reserved another. The AAA rate for a 2 Bedroom suite, if available, is $637.50 in off season, $697.50 in busier seasons. A steal compared to rack rate at other Disney Deluxe hotels.

The 2 bedroom executive suite at the Dolphin consists of 2 regular hotel rooms - one with a King, the other with 2 doubles - that are on either side of an enormous parlor with a king murphy bed, a sitting area with sofa bed, a small (2 person) dining table, wet bar area and another full bath. This set up would very comfortably accomodate you all and having the parlor to gather in and stretch out is great. We were on the 9th floor and had a direct view of Epcot and the nightly fireworks.

Here is a sample room diagram (although ours was slightly different):

We had the same party size, 6 adults, two kids and 1 infant, for a total of 9. The infant doesn't count for the room total, so technically, you're a party of 8 (that is, if the infant is under 2 years old). This means any of the two bedroom villas should fit you. We stayed at VWL and we were very comfortable. I can't comment on BW, I've never stayed there.

At VWL, our villa had a master bedroom with 1 king, a second bedroom with 2 doubles and a huge walk-in closet (so big, the set the baby's crib up in it, so it was like a little bedroom, that's how large it was!) and the main room had a sofa bed that slept two. Plus a washer/dryer and full kitchen with dishwasher. Both bedrooms and the main room had tv's, the main room had a balcony, and the master another balcony. It really worked out very well for our family.

I would go with OKW -less money more space.

It has Grand Villa or 2-bedrooms - I would go with 2-bedrooms to save money.

oh if you still want the GV at BWV - there are only 6 of them - so go find a DVC member now if you want one.

DVC member can reservation one 11 months in advance if they own BWV.

some DVC members only became DVC member when they tried to reserve the GV and got told sorry they are gone....
