Room recomendation at HOJO?

I was reading a recent Tripadvisor review of HOJO and the reviewer was complaining that they had paid for a premium park view room only to have it blocked out by the trees in front of the room. They could still see the fireworks above the trees but had no view of Matterhorn or the monorail. My kids really want to see as much of the monorail as possible.

Does anyone have a specific room # recomendation for a room with as little obstruction as possible at HOJO that would give a good view of the monorail?

We stayed in 1713. Building 1, top floor; good view right onto the Matterhorn. But, that was 8 years ago, so I don't know if it's still the same. Also, you can request a room with no blocked view-- which is what we did. I called ahead by several months, and requested top floor, no blocked view, and they were very nice and accommodating.

Here's a picture. It's still a little blocked, but the view was fine: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm193/avalon451/101_2540-1.jpg

That's perfect! Exactly what I was hoping to hear. Thanks!

How old is the review? A couple of years ago they took out half of their trees. The majority of rooms on the upper floors have a mostly unobstructed view now. There may be a bit of tree off to the side, but nothing major from what I've seen. If, for some reason, your room doesn't have a great view, you can see the fireworks from a few areas of the property, so you might just head outside. As a sidenote, I have seen the fireworks show both up close and from a few different hotels. For this particular show, it's really better to see it in the park if possible. It relies heavily on the projections. The fireworks are still nice, but you won't get the full experience unless you see the projections.

The review was within the last week. The person specifically complained that they couldn't see the Matterhorn despite all of the numerous pics showing it in clear view. They stated that the front desk told them that the trees have grown considerably in the last several years.

I actually don't think we will get fireworks but one night (Friday) while we are there and we will likely watch it from the park anyway. I am just deciding whether or not it is worth it to upgrade to a park view. If it's anything like the room you had, than I think it would be. Love the view of the monorail in particular!
