Room rates seem higher than they should?!

Hello,

My fiancé and I are in the process of signing the contract for our Disney wedding and we are soooo excited. My only concern is the room rates seem higher than I am used to for the time of year. We are getting married March 1, 2014. The value resort is at 136 before tax, the moderate is 186 and the deluxe is 443. I also do not understand how getting park tickets work. It seems like it would be cheaper for the guests to book without going through the wedding to use a package deal with the food and ticket options.

Any feedback and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

It could be related to spring break time. Some of the highest nightly rates of the year fall right there in March. Your consultant may be able to answer that question better.

Are those the prices you were quoted for your block? Because Disney hasn't released rack rates yet for 2014 (it usually happens in the summer sometime) which might be affecting the quotes you're getting.

Still, it does sometimes happen that general public discounts are better than the rates offered by a Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings room block. In that case, you would just need to get your guests' reservation numbers and have them added to your block manually so you can fulfill the room-night requirement even if they choose not to book using your room discount.

If they do book through your block, they will need to buy tickets separately; the block is room-only. Adding dining and/or tickets makes the reservation a package, which necessitates booking outside the block.
