Room rate discount question

If I get a room rate discount do I have to have a room only reservation or can it be applied to a package reservation?

from my experience, room rate, is just that, like no adding FD with it...a package may offer room rate then add on tickets, with in the "package" but not with again FD.....

You can do a package with most of them.

Most of the time, it's phrased as a "room discount" so that you understand that the discount is applied only to the cost of the room part of a package, and not to the DDP or the tickets if you book it as a package. You generally can add these items to a "room only" discount.

dizfamily4 is correct that you cannot get free dining with a room discount, as you cannot stack discounts, but you generally can use a room only discount with a package reservation.

I have a question here too.... I hope you dont mind me jumping on in here! We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) Our room is $180 per night for 7 nights (Riverview at POFQ).... I did the math and I think that the free dining (if available for my January 28-feb 4th dates) would be the best deal....Do you agree!!?? We do have all our meals booked already too. 1TS each day.....
