Room Question

A standard room at CBR is not available for the entire length of our stay (it is not available the last night). I could book a King bed the entire stay but the cost is more and I much prefer two doubles. My question is, if I book a standard room at CBR for 11 nights and made a separate reservation for a king the last night only, could I make a request at check in to remain in the standard room that last night rather than moving everything for one night? (Perhaps that would give someone else a free upgrade for that night.) What are your thoughts? Has anyone done this before?

When you say " moving everyone " do you mean there is more than two of you ? If so, you wouldn't be able to book a king room, they only sleep two
Are you dead set on staying at CBR ?

I have done "split" stays the last three years, where the discount doesn't start until the second day of my trip - kind of in reverse of what you are talking about.

They cannot guarantee that you won't have to move, but they can "link" your reservations so you are indicating that you don't wish to move on the last day. They will make every effort possible not to move you.

However, if they are all booked for standard rooms on the last day of your trip, then you will have to move the last day.

On my last three trips, I only had to move one time, and the CM said I didn't have to if I didn't want to - but she had an upgrade the next day and it was right next door - ironically it was an upgrade to a king bed corner room at POR. I was already right on the river but the original room had an obstructed view and the corner king bed room had a full view of the river. I took it.
