I am trying to determine wether it is cheaper to buy a package or do room only and get us AP's. how can you find out room only prices if you don't have AP's yet?

The package on .ie site is 30% off and free Half Board. On .nl site is 1 night+1day free+kids free and difference is about €200. I think the meals are worth more than €200. (4n/5d in Davy Crocket in August)

I don't know if I will work yet for your dates but expedia is where I looked for room only prices, but it still worked out cheaper to book the room with one person in and just add two APs for our party of three. Although, we did get the 2days/2nights free offer so maybe with the 30% off it might not be the same situation.

for august booking a package will be cheaper than either room only (if you can get it) with other agents, or room only through Disney (you have to call DLP to get AP room only prices, but as a general rule they are more expensive than a one-adult package).

I personally would see if it works out cheaper to book for one adult, then factor in the AP prices (you'll need a Fantasy AP, as the cheapest Francillian won't work for this trip because of the compulsory blackout days) and the room tax for adding someone to the room (currently 1 euro 10cents<3per person per night). You will only get half boardfor the person booked, but any free children added will get the food vouchers too.

I find I eat less monetary value than the vouchers, you will have your own car and can drive to Torcy or VdE for way cheaper food anyway, we save a fortune by just using the vouchers towards a cheaper for all of us on one night and eating else where. Remember, the DCR has a kitchen, and you could take a slow cooker with you which you could use.

I priced it with 1 adult, but the difference is not enough to make up for 3 AP's.
Expedia does not have availability for my dates.
Why can't we just book 'room-only' on the site? I hate calling and asking :-(

because thats not the way DLP works - they want people onsite with park tickets included, they make more money per trip that way :)
