Hi

I've got a fantasy annual pass and was wanting to book room only for my trip in June. I've just phoned disney to get a price and was told that you can only book room only if you have the dream pass. :confused3 I was told that I could book the dcr though but this is no good as we wanted to be within walking distance.

I was under the impression that you could book room only with any annual pass but that you won't get any discount with them. I explained to the lady on the phone that I didn't want any discount and that I just wanted to get room only without park tickets included but she said this wasn't possible.

Can anyone advise me if this is correct.

I'd try again as I'm sure this is wrong and you can book room only with any AP

Worth trying again since not every CM in the reservation office understand room only ;)

Suggestion. If you don't like what you hear today phone tomorrow at a very different time. Shift changes mean different staff and some are better than others with helping you or understanding your requirements.

Thanks for the replies. I did as all of you suggested and phoned again last night and the lady was really helpfull.

Now I just have to convince the other people that are coming with us that the disneyland hotel really is worth it.

A thought on booking room only with an AP. I have had an AP in the past but it expired. - I have a new one now though. You can not only book room only with an AP but there are times when you can also obtain discounts on certain dates.

With the Fantasy pass it is 10% on certain dates and with the Dream pass it is 10% all year and up to 30% on certain dates. I can see a benefit in one in a group having a Dream pass for making the hotel bookings.

A bonus with the Dream pass that I have found very valuable is the storage of luggage at the park itself after checking out on the last day. Show the pass when you check it in and you won't be charged. Though, I think this point has been mentioned before.

Are you sure that's right?
With a Dream AP you get 10% off all year on hotel bookings, and up to 30% at selected hotels on selected dates, but with Fantasy AP only 10% on selected dates at selected hotels.

If Disney are offering these discounts with APs I'm sure they must give a provision for booking room only, is there a separate booking line for AP holders?
Surely someone will know the answer as there are son many AP holders on the forum.
TIA!

I have been to the Disney website - all in French - and copy/pasted the information for you:

This page is in French and as I speak very little French I have to use the Translator plugin for FireFox and it will translate the entire page. Click on the Fantasy card and with regard to hotel discounts it says:

FANTASY:

-10% à certaines périodes sur les nuitées seules dans certains Hôtels Disney (6). Informations et réservation au n°Indigo 0 825 825 100 (0.15€ TTC / MN)

Translation:

- 10% at certain times on certain nights alone in Disney Hotels (6). Information and booking at Indigo No. 0825825100 (0.15 € / MN)

Note: A more accurate translation would be:
10% discount on selected days in selected hotels.

For comparison click on the Dream card:

DREAM (English translation):

-10% Throughout the year and up to -30% at certain times on certain nights alone in Disney Hotels (6). Information and booking Indigo No. 0825825100 (0.15 € / MN).

I hope this gives confirmation as well as clarification. My apologies if my posting was confusing.

The website also gives information regarding booking for AP holders. I have never tried to make any reservations for room only without an AP. Perhaps someone else could clarify that point.

I have tried to book room only with my AP through the AP booking line, and got absolutely nowhere. On the one occasion I did actually get through to a human being, he had no clue what he was talking about.

So I just phoned the normal Disney brochure booking line, spoke to a lovely CM who sorted me out with price options etc within minutes.

We always phone the normal booking number and have never had any problem booking room only with our APs

do you have to quote your ap number when booking room only to get discount??

I've wondered this also. Is there any way to purchase the annual pass over the phone in order to get the annual pass rates?

It's not a big deal if I can't get the discount, but I know with the U.S. parks this option is possible -- just finding out the ways the parks are the same and different!

I don't know of a way to buy the passes in advance. When we did it we booked the hotel without park tickets through expedia and bought the annual passes when we got there. Expedia was the only way we could book the hotel without park tickets included.

One time we booked the chap didn't ask for our AP number, just said "Make sure you buy your APs before you check in or they will charge you the full hotel cost with no discount". This seemed to imply that he was willing to give us AP discount on the assumption that we would buy APs when we got there.
Does that make sense?
