Room only ressies?

I notice that lots of ppl are only booking rooms and then adding tickets and meal pacakages later. If there a reason for this?

I know the Ap rate room only they only require 1st night payment upfront. The the balance upon check-in.

So it's a way to hold your money until then.

Then tickets can be purchased through other places at a discount as well.

If the Package is not a real deal ( saving) then why do it and have to pay in full at the 45 day mark.
