If I understand this correctly, if you make a room only reservation and buy tickets separately, you simply need to make sure to link your tickets to your room before the start of "on site" FP+ reservation window to take advantage of the earlier booking perk? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

However, what happens if you have to cancel close to your trip? Obviously they don't refund your ticket cost, but will you get them credited back to you as unused tickets to use at a later date? Are you still able to take advantage of the more generous room-only cancelation policy despite linking tickets (not sure if linking tickets suddenly turns your ressie into a package in the system)?

Thanks!

You need to link both the room reservation and park admission to your My Disney Experience (MDX) account.

The unused separately purchased park admission will remain in your MDX account for use at a later date.

Linking separately purchased park admission has no impact on the room only cancellation policy.

Thanks so much!

Unused tickets don't expire. If it's not a package, the room is completely separate from the tickets. Cancel the room, you still have the tickets.

Do you still have the FP+ or is it canceled with the room only reservation? What is to keep a person from booking a room making all reservations then canceling? Is this a beneficial loop hole?
