Room Only Reservation

I just changed my reservation from a package to room only. I was able to get the spring promotion. The CM said I could not add tickets to a Room Only reservation. What should I do now wait and get the tickets at WDW? or get them through a DIS recommend ticket site? Any help would be great

The CM gave you wrong information as you can add tickets to the spring special, making it a package. You will get the discount on just the room portion and not the entire package, but this can be done if you didn't want to buy tickets separately. With that said, the room only you have now would have to be cancelled/refunded and a package booked (requiring a new deposit of $200), but you can get tickets with the spring offer if you wanted everything together. If you keep the room only, you could buy tickets online, at the Disney Store, or when you get to WDW. I have never used them, but alot of people here on the Dis use Under Cover Tourist for their tickets. But I would call back and speak to a different CM if you prefer having everything booked together .

We usually buy our tickets through disney. Our last trip we made a room only reservation and purchased our tickets from undercover tourist for less than Disney sells them for. I wouldnt have purchased from them without hearing so many good things about them on the disboards. Linda

So sad you had a not so knowledgeable CM and had to go through the hassle of cancelling package & re-booking, refunding, etc. When you could have kept the package and same conf. #.
So now if you want to rebook as a package, you have to go through the same thing of cancelling & re-booking.

The benefit of a package - room + tix is that you get a discount coupon booklet for things like 30 min free arcade, discount on boat rentals at marinas, spa discount, mini golf discount, etc. You may or may not use it.
Also the ease of making payments on-line. Even if I book room only, I like to have everything paid in full ahead of time. So when I book room only I have to phone to make payments.

The disadvantage of package is you are subject to having to pay in full 45 days ahead. And the cancelation policy.

Advantage of doing room only is you have more lenient cancellation/change policy, and you don't have to pay in full until you arrive if that's your pref.
Also you can get cheaper tickets from Undercover Tourist. For extra discount go through the mousesavers.com link. For comparison the UT ticket prices include tax and shipping is free. On the WDW site, posted price doesn't include tax till you go to check out.
We have used UT before, great service, and they send you real tickets, not vouchers. You can have the UT added to your KTTW card at check in.

Just got off the phone with a CM on hold for 45 min for her to set up package. It was a bit difficult she said because the RR room at POR was no longer available for the spring promo code. So she had to overide the rack rate RR to the discount price. So happy that she done this for us. Now I can make payments online which is the main reason for the package.

Yes, it is one of the nice things about a pkg. We are doing room only next trip with AP discount, so I'm having to phone to make payments. Just paid in full this week,
