Room only reservation question

I am a DVC member and haven't stayed in room other than DVC in the past 5 years.

We have a room only reservation at CBR before we move to our DVC resort. Do we get the luggage tags you get with a package? Just curious to see if I was supposed to expect anything before we leave.

Thanks!

Luggage tags are only given for packages.

Not sure what you mean by "package", but every time we go we only get a room - no dining or tickets. And every trip we get our Mickey Mail with a luggage tag for each person included with our check in booklet, vouchers, ME info, etc.

A package is room + tickets (and DDP if you add it). I have booked both packages and room only and have never gotten anything with the room only reservation. The luggage tags, booklet, voucher, etc. are only included in the MYW package, so not sure why you would receive those with a room only reservation :confused3.

I don't know either - but as I said we get only a room. We have AP and cannot get the dining plan because of the discount we get on the room.

The only thing I can think of is we book our room through a special number, used for airline employees to get our discount. It's odd, they give us a (substantial) discount on the room rate, we get a free round of mini-golf for each person (plus the coupon printed in our booklet), and we get the luggage tags! pixiedust: Disney must really, really like us!

I don't know if I'm reading this right but I believe you can get the dining plan but you would have to pay for it. Perhaps you were referring to when they offer free dining? Since you have an AP, you can always purchase a TIW card. We have found it pays for itself after a few meals.

Do you mean the luggage ID tags or the Magical Express tags? You can get the Magical Express tags with a room only, they will transport your luggage from the airport to the hotel and you ride the bus.

I meant luggage tags... No Me for us. We drive.

Thanks everyone for your responses.

We also always do room only and have received luggage tags. We do use ME , but no dining plan and purchased tickets on arrival.

I just went end if February. I had ROOM ONLY. no tickets, no dining plan. I received the yellow magic express tags and MICKEY LUGGAGE TAGS.

I just had Room Only in February. I did receive luggage tags in addition to the yellow Magic Express tags. Maybe that's how it is now or maybe its only when you fly like I did. They came a month before the trip.

Maybe you booked thru group sales, being its for airline employees, and they do things differently.

Maybe Disney is doing things differently now? In the past room only got nothing in the way of Mickey luggage tags, coupons, etc. The only thing you got was DME tags, and coupon for DME.

We have a lovely collection of WDW luggage tags that we have gotten over the years. My favorite and the one still on my suitcase is the one from the 2000 Millennium year. My husband likes a green one he got a few years ago. We have gotten them without booking a package, just a room only reservation and buying the tickets when we checked in.

But this year we didn't got the luggage tags until we added the dining plan to make it a package about a week before we traveled. The luggage tags were waiting with our check in materials.

This is what I was thinking.
