Room only reservation before package

We have a package reservation at CBR from 9/17-10/1. We just decided to fly in the night before. Our package is a free dining bounce back with a 14 night maximum. Since I cannot add one additional night I booked a room only reservation for 9/16. I was just wondering if anyone else had experience with this?

I know we will most likely need to change rooms, can we go check in for our package first thing on the 17th so we can use our tickets/dining? Do we leave our stuff with bell services? Is there any likelihood that they might get us in the same room? Should we inquire at check in? I see we now get two sets of magic bands, I assume both will work all trip since they are linked to our MDE right?

If it is the same room type you can ask not to move.

If you book the same room type for both reservations, you can have the reservations linked with a request to keep the same room. When you check in for the first night, tell the CM you have a continuing reservation and would like to stay in the same room if possible. It's not guaranteed you won't have to move, but they will do everything they can to accommodate you. As for checking back in on the 17th, you can do that as early as 6 am, which is when the computers roll over for the day. If you have to change rooms, you can leave your bags with bell services until the 2nd room is ready. HTH .

Thank you - we did book the same room type (both standard rooms) and the gentleman I booked with put in requests on both the room only and package reservation. We'll ask at check in as well. If we have not move, no big deal. I appreciate the input!
