I booked a room only at Wilderness 30% off from 8/26-2/30. My husband booked the airline tickets to return on 8/29 and I just realized the conflicting dates when I was checking in online. The 30% room offer is no longer available on Wilderness rooms. Do you think they will let me shave one day off my stay or will I need to rebook the room at full price. I will when I can but now I'm up worrying about this.

You will be able to drop the last night as long as the shorter stay is available under the discount. In the past it was never a problem to drop nights, but Disney changed the policy and now the shorter stay must be available in order to modify and keep the discount. When you call, ask to speak with someone in guest services as CRO doesn't usually have the ability to check availability/modify a reservation with an expired promo. Good luck.

If you are dropping a day it shouldn't be an issue. You'd only run into a problem if you tried to add a day. You'd have to do it at whatever the current rate is.

Wow! I didn't realize that policy change. Good to know!

The change went into effect a couple of months ago. A lot of people don't know about it, especially since I've read reports of CMs encouraging guests to book longer stays and modifying later on, only for the guest to find out later that if the shorter stay isn't available, they lose the discount :(.

I was under the impression if book room only you can change or drop days off under a discount. I know I can under the military discount but with packages I guess it has changed.

It's the same policy for both RO and packages.

Yep. We just dropped a day from a RO stay we booked under a Bounceback. While we were "approved" to drop it, it wasn't automatic...Guest Services had to approve the shortened stay.

I just got off the phone and made my changes without any problems. The CM said it was a new policy but it shouldn't have been to those who made reservations a year ago. My was a room only. Not going worry about as it is changed but I think Disney need to be open about their changes. But this is my view only and my shoes I walk in

I called this morning and she helped me drop it no questions asked. :yay:
