Room Only Discounts?

Hi Everyone! Our family has been to WDW more times than I can count. We are thinking we would like to go to Disneyland the third week in April to see the park that Walt built! I know WDW planning like the back of my hand but I am feeling out of my element with planning this trip. We would love to stay at The Grand Californian. This may be the only time we ever get to DLR so might as well go first class! My question is do they ever offer room only discounts like at WDW? We will probably stay 4 nights so I'm not sure if one of those buy 3 get 2 offers will help me because we are not planning on staying that long. I know it's kind of early but I have no idea what to expect as far as discounts. Any advice or past experience with offers is greatly appreciated!:worship: Thank You!

Unfortunately, there is no way to know this early what (if any) discounts there might be. DLR usually doesn't give a lot of advance notice for hotel discounts--it's something like 3 months for AP and sometimes a little more for promotions.

You could make the reservation, though, and keep checking for discounts. You will be able to switch over to the better rate if one comes up for your dates. If the best rate is an ap rate, you might consider upgrading one of your passes to an ap to take advantage of the lower rate if it saves you money. That also gives you a 10% discount on food in the resort. Normally, the third week in April is not a big discount time, but with the present economy, they seem to be having discounts all over the place!

Book directly through the resort, room only (not Walt Disney Travel Company). That way you can make changes without penalty up until 5 days before your trip. You do have to put down a 1-night's deposit at the time of your reservation, though.

I agree with PP. Too early to plan any room discounts, but the last two years had the "Everyone plays at kids prices" through the end of April.
