room-only discount with AP or Visa

I have three rooms booked at POR for January and I'm trying to decide which would work better for us, free dining or a room-only discount (assuming both are offered). DH and I have APs, but the rest of our party (my parents and brothers) don't. If a good AP rate comes out, can I get it applied to all three rooms I booked, or only the one I'm staying in? Has anyone had any luck getting an AP room discount applied to a family member's room?
What about with the Disney Visa? I've paid the deposits on all the rooms with my Visa, and I'm assuming for their discount, it just matters that you use your Visa, meaning I could get a Visa discount for all the rooms. Is that correct?
