Room only discount question-

Probably been asked a million times, but the room only discount- it comes off of the rack rate for the hotel- but what is the rack rate? For example, right now Disney is listing the rate for BWVillas at 600 something night- it comes off of this rate, correct? They don't bump the rate up and then take the perecentage off? Trying to estimate the cost of some packages if the next discount is a room only...

It would come off the price you see today. Those prices are set.

The issue that often happens though is availability for the sale rates won't be available for the least expensive room types. So the standard view and garden view may not be available but theme park view and water view are. If you are looking at a few resorts it''s worth looking at mousesavers detailed charts on rates for the various room types. We are booked in a standard view now and if we upgrade to a different view it negates a lot of the savings for that category so in the past it has made it worth it for us to upgrade to a higher resort level that has a higher discount. It may end up being slightly more expensive but it's a better deal and we float between mods and deluxes so we are happy however it turns out
