Hello everyone! My name is Carrie and I'm a long time Disney-going, first-time poster to DISboards. :cool1:

My bf and I are planning a small getaway to Disney (we live in Tampa, so we can go more often) and I was wondering which building/section to request for our reservation at CSR. The top priority to us is to avoid noise/kids. Are there certain sections we should avoid? We wanted a little privacy, but didn't necessarily want to be as far away from everything as the Ranchos seem to be. Also, we are really eyeing those hammocks. Those are only found in the Cabana and Casitas sections, right?

I've stayed at just about every Disney resort, but I haven't been to this one since I was 12. That being said, we stayed in the Casitas back then, so I kind of wanted to give either the Ranchos or Cabanas a shot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please specify the building number you are recommending (9A, etc) and the reasons why you would pick them (romantic/location/etc).

Thanks in advance for anyone who can provide some advice! :thanks:

First, :welcome: to the Dis. My DH and I (we are both 50+) have always stayed in the Casitas section (preferably Casitas 4 or 5--near the quiet pool and the fitness center/spa; it is a short walk--five to six minutes to the main building and about eight to ten minutes to the main pool). A lot of people love the Cabanas; there are Rancho lovers too...but it is the most secluded of the sections. As far as kids, you are going to have kids at ANY Disney resort, but we have in our seven stays never had a noise issue with kids, convention goers or anyone else.

Enjoy your stay at the CSR!

Thanks for the warm welcome! :goodvibes

I have heard/read so many differing things about the sections. I just want to make this time special because it is my BF's first time staying on Disney property! (I don't think he realized what he was getting himself into when he started dating me!!) Many people have said the Casitas building 4 or 5 is nice, but are those rooms updates yet? I thought it was only the fourth floor?

Should I request both an updated room and a specific building? I don't want my building request to be honored only to be stuck in a non-refurb. room.

Thanks again!

Building 4 in the Casitas should be completed by this weekend. They have not started on Building 5 yet and probably won't until the current convention is over. If you are dead set on a renovated room, then request the Cabanas 9A or 8A or 8B--as those are all completed. But, you must remember, a request is only a request...not a guarantee. I hope you do get a renovated room.

KatMark, thanks for the information as well!!! We have just booked CSR this week for our Aug/Sep stay. We have never stayed there before -- though we wanted to on our last trip in 2005 but it was all booked up so we went to POR.

We were also wondering which building we should ask for. I was thinking Casitas 3 or 4. My DH loves to work out every morning so I'd like to be near the fitness facility. I also may do a load of laundry while we are there, so being close to a laundry facility would be great. Also would like to be close to a bus stop since we won't have a car. A renovated room would be the icing on top! We don't need to be close to the pool or the Pepper Market since we can all walk there as a family.

Do you have any suggestions for us?? Thank you!:flower3:

Yes, here is my suggestion: For adult couples, especially honeymooners or those celebrating anniversaries Casitas 4 or 5 with a water view is exceptional. Casita 4 has the quiet pool, fitness center, spa, salon, and both are close to bus stop #2.

So just to clarify, the only rooms in the Casitas that are updated are in building 4? Do you think this request would be more likely to be honored if I asked first for an updated room, and then for the casitas? Sorry again for all the questions...I'm thinking I might just play it safe and request JUST an updated room...preferably in the Cabanas.

Any other suggestions?

Casitas 4 will be done this week; the fourth floor of Casitas 1, 2 and 3 are complete.

When are you going? You can't go wrong with the Casitas or the Cabanas and I would request which section you want to be in and then say you really hope that you could get a rehabbed room.

We are planning on the first week in May.

I have one other question, if you don't mind. Are king rooms considered an upgrade at this resort? I've stayed at others such as WL and CR where the room was just randomly given (no request).

Thanks! :)

If you want a king room, you have to request it when making reservation and it costs more ($25 more a night?).

Ok, just made the reservation! :woohoo: It's my BF and I's one-year anniversary, AND his first time staying on Disney property. I made the room request-definitely a renovated room (preferably Casitas or Cabanas). The lady was EXTREMELY nice and helpful. She even asked me if there were specific buildings I would like to stay in!

Thank you KatMark for all your help. These boards are a great resource for Disney lovers! :thumbsup2
