Room location advice on this one?

I booked a one night stay in a standard view room at Kidani Village before our stay at the Yacht Club with cash. Any advice on room location?

The problem is that you say you did a cash reservation. If done through Disney's central reservation system, then the issue you have is that what it considers to be a standard view room and applicable locations, as opposed to what DVC classifies as a standard view room and applicable locations, can differ. Moreover, the kinds of requests you can make though Disney CRO are often different and fewer than the kind you can make through DVC Member Services.

If this were a DVC reservation, or if like requests are allowed with a cash reservation and standard rooms were the same with the same locations, then requests you could make include: (a) room near the Timon elevator (puts one close to the bus station and not far from the lobby); (b) room near the Rafiki elevator (gives you shortest possible walk to a a gate to the pool from the building and not too far from lobby); (c) room near the Pumbaa elevator (actually gives you a Pembe savanna view with a standard view room but room will be far from lobby and bus station).

Cash is a little different than DVC.... but I would ask "near Pumbaa Elevators" for a chance at Savanna View.
