I just tried to add a day to the beginning of our stay at AKL in a couple of weeks, but they didn't have any rooms available in the category we have booked. I'm not sure how to proceed at this point. I think I will book a room anyway, and hope I can get the room I want when I arrive. I'd rather not have to deal with moving after we check in. So, when I check the Disney web site (a few times daily) is the room availability accurate? Does anyone know how often updates are made? Or perhaps , should I be a pest and call the CRO a couple of times a day? Finally, when I reserve an extra day and let them know my preferred room is unavailable, will they put me on a waiting list, or make any additional efforts to accommodate me? Thanks in advance...:scratchin

The first time you will see rooms pop up is at the 45 day mark, because people cannot pay off their packages and cancel or re-book for a later date.

The next time is usually 30 days, if some people get some kind of extension to pay off their packages.

And then rooms will pop up from time to time, by cancellations; people booking discounts and upgrading, etc. The rooms don't roll into inventory right away; they occur when the computers roll over for the day at 6 am usually. So calling a few times a day won't help.

Try this; link your two reservations. This gives an indication to the room assigner that you would prefer not to move.

If you have to, just unpack what you need for the night and allow Guest Services to move your luggage while you are in the parks the next day. You can check in as early as 6 am now, when the computers roll over, for your second reservation.

I had to do this one year and it was so worth it. I went from a standard room parking lot view at POR to a king bed room riverside the next day. Guest Services moved my luggage while I was at the parks and when I got back, I was able to unpack everything.
