My brother is looking for a room for Friday night. Our DVC reservation has check-in on Saturday, but he couldn't get flights leaving on Saturday, so he's arriving noontime on Friday (not planning on visiting the parks though that day). What is his best combination of lowest price, most convenience, greatest diversion for the hours they'll be spending there, etc. They'll have a rental car.

Off-site, the Radisson Parkway (which is basically right across from the entrance to Celebration) is usually a good value for a pretty nice place. The hotel partners with many websites which offer good rates.

Try this link: http://orlando.guestselectresorts.com/default_intaffid_48.html

Another good choice is the Holiday Inn Sunspree.

Also, the Doubletree near Downtown Disney is good. https://secure.hilton.com/en/dt/res/choose_dates.jhtml?hotel=MCOFHDT

Use Corporate ID# 560076221 to get good rates. It's a public use code, no restrictions.

Hmmmm... Radisson Parkway is coming in at $125 per night... about double what he's looking for. I'm not sure he needs to be that close to Disney, though, and I suppose they're charging extra for the proximity.

Anywhere in between the airport and Disney would be good for him, as long as it's clean, safe, and (for example) there's a pool.

In following up on the Holiday Inn Sunspree, I found a one bedroom suite (?) at The Palms Hotel and Villas for $69. Has anyone heard of this place?

Hmmm, Radison is often offered at $69. Let me think about some other options.

On this site you can book RRP, king bed, for $87 plus tax, so that's $98.

You probably still want something cheaper, but at least it's not $125 plus tax.

Have you thought about priceline. When there is only one traveler, PL is ideal. NO worries if there is enough space in the room. :)

Yes, Priceline would be a good option for him. Can get a nice 3 star in the $40 range in Lake Buena Vista.

herc.

So far no luck with that Radisson Parkway -- they still want $120 per night.

He won't go with an auction site.

Does anyone know of any other alternatives?

Priceline is really the best in this case. For one night you don't really care the exact hotel you get. You can usually get a resort hotel for under $100/night, a 3 star for under $50. The problem with PL is the inflexibility if your plans change. You can reduce that risk by bidding a week or so before the trip.

As an alternative try a consolidator. Spicycat lists some of the better sites, www.hotelkingdom.com is one of the better ones.

I'll have him check into that consolidator. He won't consider an auction site (and I don't blame him). He wants to get a full review of the hotel before he agrees to stay there.

SWA vacations has some cheap prices and you can view the hotels .Expedia the same.

Have you checked Hotelkingdom.com? What date are you looking for? On HK, you can usually get a 1 BR condo at Cypress Point or CPGV for around $70 unless it's peak season.

Hotwire has something for 67$ and also 43$. No htoelt names thought but hotel amenities and locations are known beforehand. u could try there.

Has anyone ever heard of Royal Celebration on Lake Cecile? HotelKingdom.com is showing a $45/night rate there. Cypress Point is over $93/night.

Bicker--Also try easyclicktravel. The "off the record" hotels are described so you can easily identify the property. You can either use betterbidding to identify the property or just do a Google search on the description.

What date are you looking for?

I don't see a date here! I suggest that you try Choice Hotels
