Room for 5?

Which on site resorts will allow 5 in one room? Is it cheaper to get two connecting rooms at a value resort or one room somewhere else?

I have been looking at rooms for 5 also and I think this is the list:
Any Deluxe with the Contemporary having the largest rooms.
Any Home away from home - 2 bedroom. (you'll feel like your buying a home though!)
The cabins at Ft. Willderness. Seems like a popular option!
POR has rooms that have a trundel bed that pulls out from under the double bed. It will cost you $15 extra a night.
There are many off site condo/villas that will comfortably sleep 5 also.

After all that I think we are going to get 2 value rooms. For about the same price as the MOD plus the extra charge we will have 2 bathrooms and 2 TV sets. For us the extra bath will help get everyone out the door in the AM and the 2 girls won't have to share a bed. Now I just need a code for June! princess: :earboy2: :cheer2:

I have been over alot of options for this. I feel like $ wise POR with the trundle is the cheapest. I personally shy away from the values, although I can see why some would rather have 2 rooms for a little bit more money. The dolphin can accomodate 5 and you can sometimes get good rates there. I would like to try CR with a code.

We had 5 in a garden wing room at Contemporary. Three adults, two kids. Plenty of room, never felt crowded. Got a code rate of ~$180 in mid-June, 2004.

POR - AB section only!!!

the Polyn, GF, Cont, BC and YC (not sure but I think BWI)

the WL and AKL only allow 4

I would go with 2 rooms at a value resorts - remember the Pop Century is open and is very, very nice.

has a lounge and a pool bar!!!

there are suites that allow 5 - at all the deluxe resorts (including WL and AKL) and CSR. suites are expensive.

DVC resorts 2-bedroom (expensive) - even when renting from a DVC member.
FW cabins allow 6.

both DVC resorts and FW cabins have a full kitchen - so you can save on food (if you want too).

For our family of 5, we have gotten the govt. disc. at the swan , this time I am bringing our own aerobed to save the charge for the rollaway $25 per night. Its $149, plus $10 resort fee, plus tax. I know its strange, I dont want 2 rooms because then the ds will just have pillow fights, fights over the tv, never go to sleep, stay up late and ruin all my well thought out plans. I too priced 2 value rooms the other year and for a few dollars more the swan was definetely worth it. Their grotto pool is awesome and 1st bus stop cant be beat etc.

Thanks, I posted this question on another thread about CR rates. Was that a general public codes?

Just a heads up Spicey ....the Poly, CR, BC and YC and I think BWI too, do accommodate 5;) they have 2 doubles or queens and a daybed. I think that some of the rooms at these resorts do have just the 2 beds without the daybed but all these resorts do in fact have the daybed as well and at no extra charge as we've had one at BC (the regular hotel not the villas) and the Poly and the YC and CR. The GF you might be right about though - not sure (we had a dormer room with just the 2queens on our last stay there).

WL & AKL I agree with you too;)

As for what would be the least expensive, I'd say POR in the AB section with a trundle or 2 connecting rooms at the values. Or even the FW cabins if you can get a good discount code. :)
