Family of five (7,11,15) and just wanted the expertise of all. What type of room is best suited for us? The lowest I find that I can go with all of us in one room is a cat 4, and of course we can have 2 rooms. For the money, what are some of your ideas? Anyone who has done this? I believe there are also rooms that connect? How about rooms accross the hallway? DH an I will probably split if we choose 2 rooms to be with kiddies.
Please help! Planning for sometime in 2005.

Getting two Cat 10's will most likely be cheaper than getting one Cat 4 and plus you will more room and 2 bathrooms (if connecting).

Or, if you wanted one cabin to have natural light coming in then you could go for one Cat 9 and across the hall a Cat 10.

check out this this link and you can see the different categories on each deck. Then you could price them out via the site's quote process.

I see you from Florida....DCL offers some great fl res rates at certain times of the year. Check out www.allseastravel.com to see the current Fl res rates.

If you can go in January or February, DCL already has FL resident rates -- and the rates for the cat 4s are mind-bogglingly discounted.

We went in August with our DD's 16 and 13 and DS 6. We had a cat. 6 for my DH and DS and myself. Across the hall we had a cat. 11 for our 16 and 13 year olds. This worked out great. They were excited to have there own cabin. This was also much cheaper than a cat 4 or two connecting rooms. Hope this helps.

We are a family of five (ds9, dd7, ds4) and just stayed in a cat 4 and found the room was just fine for all of us. Next time we go we will stay in a 4 again. Loved the convenience of one flight up to pools and topsiders as well.

When our teens were younger we stayed in Cat 4 a few times, but now that they are teen/young adults (16, 19, 20)....we all much prefer to have two separate cabins....

we just got back from Port Orleans and our room had a trundle bed. So it sleeps 5.
Our DD is 9 and she fit in the trundle bed just fine. We told her she could have her own full size bed since there's 3 of us but she wanted the trundle.

We stayed in a cat. 4 I would recommend 2 cabins it get really crowed at times .. ie. getting ready for dinner

We are also a family of five and after a lot of researching on these boards we decided to book a category 8 with a category 11 across the hall. The difference between this option and a category four was close to $1,000 in our favor!! So now we have much more space, an extra bathroom and $1,000 in our pockets!!

Like you, my husband and I will probably split up for sleeping. Our kids are young (7,6,4) and I wouldn't want them in a room by themsleves. I am thinking of it as a little vacation from the snoring!!!(Shh....don't tell my DH!)

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you decide on because you'll be on a Disney cruise!!
