ok DISers.. My mom has finally given me the go ahead to start looking at the cost for our big family vacation.. My question is where is a good place to stay with that many people..The cast of characters is as follows...
Mom~ Dad
Sister ~ Niece
Me ~Son
Bro~Wife~ 3 little ones

My mom doesn't want to stay on site... (maybe?)
I am thinking DD hotels
we NEED separate rooms for each family. :thumbsup2 (4 total) but we want to be close to each other, joining rooms, same floor that kind of thing.
we will be staying for approx 5 days, so no cheepo icky places, but don't need the super expensive places either.
any suggestions?:confused3
thanks

If it was me there is no doubt I would rent a 5 bedroom home. Even the kids would have their own rooms. You could have a private pool, full kitchen, games room, etc.

Happy planning :)

thanks for the tip... my mom is really set on us each having our own rooms...
Us siblings are like cats and dogs...rrowr. we need our own space. we love each other, but can't stand to be too close!!!:lmao: so Hotel with 4 rooms is the only thing she is insisting on!!:rolleyes1

Are you saying that your mom is insisting on a Hotel?

If it were me, I would be going with a vacation home which could accommodate everyone in bedrooms. You get privacy, but then you also get space to be together in the family room, dining room etc. Kids can sleep whilst the adults watch TV/swim/play games/talk in the communal areas.

However I do realize that it may not be the right choice for everyone. You do not have daily maid service, but I much prefer the extra space over someone coming into my room everyday.

I would definitely go with a vacation home. It will be so much more comfortable to have the separate living areas. There are some very elaborate vacation homes with separate bathrooms for each bedroom available. Another thought - we've rented a couple of times from ourfloridavacationhomes.com. They have several 4 and 5 bedroom homes in the same neighborhood (a couple next door to each other) and are around $700 for the week. Great location - lots of restaurants and grocery stores close by and only 20 minutes from the driveway to the parking lots at Disney. If your mother is insisting on separate areas for everyone, you could each rent a house for the same price as a hotel for a week and meet up at someone's pool for some family time.

Thanks for the info.... I think I may have talked her into looking at ASMusic and getting the suite and a 2 more rooms. That way the siblings with more kids can have a room to themselves:goodvibes
However.. it is still over a year away and renting a villa or house may be an option!
