Room discount

What is the discount given to the brides for the room block? This will help me to determine which hotel to pick.

The room block discount initially is some thing like 15% for value 20 for mod and 25 deluxe. Im not sure if thats exactly what is is but around that. I will say this, we chose two hotels. POR and GF. Most nights were blocked at POR. Diane(our sales consultant) gave us rates for those two and they were good. But when we recieved our contract the room rate for POR was about $40 less than Diane's original rate. Surprise!! She said she was able to negotiate a better rate than initially thought based on the number of room nights.

For Escape weddings it's 10% at all resorts.

For Wishes weddings it's usually about 30% at hotels that have a convention center, 15% other Deluxes, less than 15% at Moderates and less than 10% at Values. But it sounds like they may be able to negotiate these now that the economy's down.

The planner I have spoken to told me just yesterday that both Escape and Wishes have 20% Delux, 15% Moderate, 10% Value. Hope this helps =)

I agree. I would like to know because I have some picky people. My husband do not like the values because of the icons, but he will take pictures with them. My mom do not like hotels with outside doors. My sister in law and mother in law only like hotels with room service and that look "upscale". I do not understand some of these people.I really would like to stay a couple of nights at GF and the rest at AKL or WL.So the discount will come in handy if it is a good one.

When do they give you the annual pass coupons? I was wondering if we will get it at the PS when we hope to pay half the wedding off or when we check in for the wedding.

On the boards, Wishes brides seem to get them a few weeks after your sign your contract and pay the deposit. I still have a month and a half before you can do that... I feel like I am twiddeling my thumbs waiting to start the next part.

There are convention centers at the Grand Floridian, BoardWalk Inn, the Contemporary, and Yacht & Beach Club, so those get the biggest discount.

Oh, and there is a convention center at Coronado Springs, so I should have said that *Deluxe* hotels with convention centers get the biggest discount.

I have a question:

If you get the room block discount, and if Disney posts another BETTER discount, can your guests get the better discount?

They can get it by canceling and re-booking under the better promotion.

This would mean that the new reservation will have to be entered into your room block by hand, and their rooms will only count toward you minimum room guarantee, not toward the free night.
