Room close to midship elevators?

Hi all-Looking at 7 night Eastern Caribbean Disney Fantasy family ocean view with verandah next spring & have narrowed it down to decks 8 & 9 (thanks to all the info here!)

I can choose 8584 which appears to be the 1st family verandah room closest to midship elevators or 8598 a little further down. On Deck 9, I have options of 9576 or 9584, but both have connecting rooms. My specific questions:

1) would you choose the closest family verandah room to midship elevators (8584) for convenience? Or something a little further down?

2) do connecting rooms on the Fantasy present potential noise issues or are they really good at keeping out noise (at hotels I try to avoid adjoining rooms so I'm wondering if I should do the same on the ship)?

3) would you look at aft family verandah cabins or stick with midship?

Thank you-the information here is great for a new family cruiser like me!

I love midship. Our last cruise was right around the corner from the elevators and didnt have that much noise. I plan to keep staying in that area.

We've had connecting rooms on both the Fantasy and Wonder and never heard anything from the other cabins. I would strongly suggest you stay away from any aft cabin on the Fantasy. We had one and the vibrations were horrible. Trying to sleep was nearly impossible. There has been many threads on here about the problems with aft rooms on the Fantasy, aft on the other ships don't have the problems. We've had cabins close to the mid-ship elevators and they have been fine. Again, trust me, stay away from aft, unless you want to be kept awake all night with vibrations and banging sounds.

We were in 9080 on the Fantasy in October (essentially the same location on the other side of the ship from what you are looking at). Very convenient location, no noise from either the elevator lobby or adjoining stateroom.

We stayed in 7086 on the Dream which is essentially the same room as 8584 on the Fantasy (just one deck down and mirrored across the hall). We loved it. It's far enough around the corner from the elevators and stairs that we really didn't hear any hall noise. We liked that it was tucked into the little corner caused by the larger family oceanview verandah room right next door, it was easy to find and it seemed like some of the hall noise was blocked by the bump out too.

Both of the cabins we've stayed in were adjoining and we never noticed any noise from adjoining cabins at all.

Just got back from 7 day Fantasy. We were in room 8570, which is about as close to elevators as you can get. It was a GREAT location. We almost never heard any noise from hall traffic. It was so convenient to be that close to elevators since you always need to either go up or down. And if you decorate your door, it gets seen and enjoyed by so many others. And being mid ship was soon convenient to practically everything!

We've stayed in 8658 on the Fantasy (5B, starboard, just off the Aft Elevators) twice and never had an issue with the vibration. I always slept like like a baby.

We just got off our first cruise in February on the Dream. We were in a midship family stateroom verandah on deck 6-cabin 6586. It was just around the corner from the stairs and midship elevators. It was also an adjoining stateroom. The only noise we heard was from a verandah above us (only heard when we were on our verandah) that seemed to be constantly moving their chairs! ! We liked this room so much we booked the same one for our first cruise on the fantasy in Feb 2018!:) Good luck deciding. I wouldn't hesitate to book midship if I were you.

Hi! We are booked in 7580 on the Fantasy next year....I'm worried about the lifeboats getting in the way of a beautiful view. Most people say that you only notice if you look straight down. Do you have any pics from your verandah? Thanks for any help!!!

Midship is great for convenience. I never noticed any noise issue with a connecting room. And avoid aft on the Fantasy unless you like vibrating beds.

I haven't downloaded our pics yet, but we were three stories above the lifeboats, so you'd be two stories above them. I highly doubt they will obstruct your views. We had to look down over the veranda wall to even see them.

Thank you everyone-I went ahead and booked 8584 & I'm happy with the decision. The proximity to stairs and lack of a connecting door both sealed the deal. Thanks all for input!

Only 400+ days left to get into the room! Sigh....

The gold object below is the life boat. At this height, the only view it interferes with is that of deck 4 below it.

Thank you for posting this. We will be in 8570 next February and I was a little worried about being so close to the elevators. I feel much better now. :-)
