after our first stay as DVC members at SSR , was not happy with our room location , but just put up with it
we were right at the main gate in the THE CAROUSEL I think
it was a good 10 minute walk to the main pool , ended up taking the car to go swimming to go for breakfast :rotfl2: could have easliy gone to 1 of the water parks instead

when booking in was told this was the only room availibe and was not that far away :rotfl2:
it really spoiled our stay there

so back to my question when booking in can I refuse the room that is been offered if not happy with the location
Thanks

If you are not happy with the room location when you are checking in, ask if they have anything else. If they don't have anything else, then you are stuck. One option is you could request to move the next day but you would have to pay the room cleaning fee.

This happend to us when we stayed at SSR. We were given a room in the springs section and was told that it had a lovely view, we got to the room and it was so dark and actually looked onto the car park. We went straight back to check in where I waited for the same CM and she gave us a new room in the grandstand section. Lovely and bright and not far from anything.

whoa i just called MS at 418 EST and did not ave to wait at all.....anyway back to the point. I have a reservation and requested a room in Congress Park..am I likely to get it or do they just take the request for the hell of it...ps the reservation is for May 3rd to 6th

It depends on what is open when you get there. If they are using the "room ready" system, they don't make advance assignments. If they assign you elsewhere, ask what else is available or that you would be willing to wait for something closer.
