I was reading a few reviews on several different sites of various hotels in Disney. I noticed at least 3 of them said that they were able to use an air mattress in their room to accomodate their family. We have a family of 6 and most of the villas are sold out, so we are being forced to get two rooms. I was just wondering if they would allow us to fit 5 and the youngest on an air mattress? I didn't think hotels let you do that, especially since they make you pay per person if it's a package deal.

But, would could afford a nicer room at the Grand Floridian if they would allow an air mattress. I read they have the biggest rooms.

No. You can only have as many people in the room as stated on the room occupancy. GF rooms fit 5 people. You can have an air mattress in the room to sleep that 5th person if someone didn't want to share a bed.

We are staying at Coronado Springs this December. We are a family of 4. Room occupancy 4. However we are bringing an air mattress so our 17 year old and 9 year old won't have to share a bed.

You must stay to the room occupancy, which is controlled by the local, state and federal codes regarding exiting in case of a fire.

Just because you can fit an air mattress in a room doesn't allow you to exceed the room occupancy.

People bring air mattresses, as in the case of the PP, when two children do not want to share a bed; they will bring an air mattress for one to sleep on. They are not exceeding their room occupancy, so they are fine.

Unless one of the six persons in your family is under the age of three, you are a family of six and can only stay in a limited number of places - Fort Wilderness Cabins sleep 6. All Stars family suites sleep six. DVC two bedroom villas sleep six. Otherwise, you need to reserve two rooms and ask for connecting rooms - not guaranteed, but you can request them.

If one of your family is under the age of three, you are a family of five plus one and can stay at any resort that sleeps five. GF, Polynesian, YC, BC all sleep five. Coronado Springs resort has rooms that sleep six. Also WL has rooms that sleep six (not the standard room).
