Room availability??? none for one week but yes for 6 plus 1 day??

ok. I'm trying to save a few dollars by booking a standard room instead of a preferred room at Caribbean beach. OUr Canadian dollar is so low I have to try and save where I can . When I put in a request for the week we are wanting its says not available for a standard room, but when I put in for 6 nights, and one night using the same week, it comes up as a standard room available for all the same days?? how come I cant get a whole week then? Is it even worth phoning a CM and seeing if I can get the week at the standard rate?? or is that just the way Disney does it ):

It's their booking system. It's how it does room management and it can be a wee bit infuriating. I had this happen for our February stay...I booked six nights and then needed to add one. I could see there were rooms available the one night or the six nights, but not the seven nights. I ended up booking the one night separate, which ended up being a little more hassle for both me and the front desk. I had to check out, check back in, then they had to switch the room to check out cleaning to occupied cleaning. And at some point in that, our Magical Express reservation got deleted by the computer. Figured it out that evening, but still a bit of a hassle.

So, while I was waiting for computers and everything to sort out, the CM said that if I ran into that type of situation again to just call the room reservation line. There are people there that can override the room blocking computer, so they should be able to get you seven nights.
