Room assignment and ME question?

Do you think when you use ME that they have your room assigned ahead of time? Once they lost our luggage. They put it in the wrong room. When we checked in, the room they assigned us to was no good and they changed the room. After doing this, we never got our luggage for a day. I'm wondering if I should keep my luggage with me. I'm paranoid about it happening again or if it hurts your chances of getting a better room location. Any thoughts? Is it true that you can keep your luggage with you? I didn't know you could do that with ME.

Yes, you can bring your own luggage - just do NOT attach the DME tags (throw 'em away when they arrive) and head to baggage claim when you get off the plane.

BUT BUT BUT!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep in mind, this error had absolutely NOTHING to do with DME. The service delivers users' luggage to the correct resort. Your resort's Bell Services put your luggage in the wrong room (and if you do decide to let DME transport your luggage do NOT wait a day to track it down!!!!)

I don't think that using DME actually gives you a better chance at a better room. It does alert your resort that you are enroute, so that they can assign you a room, meaning your requests have a better chance of being met rather than the requests of someone who took a towncar and shows up about the same time you do.
But, keep in mind...your idea of a good room might not be my idea of a good room. So, if you arrive at the resort and end up in a room that you don't find to be suitable (for whatever reason) it's up to bell services to get your things to the right room, if you are moved. I guess it is dependent on whether or not you are able to get into your room right away. But it was before DME was in business, so it wasn't an issue. We ended up dragging our luggage all over BWV in search of a room.
If you are concerned about it, don't use the yellow tags and retrieve your things yourself and have them put under the bus you are on. This way you will have your bags with you when you check in.
