To anyone with experience...

We're sailing on the October 15, 2005 Magic Eastern Carribean cruise. We were assigned room 7014. Anyone have any feedback...good or bad...regarding this room or its location? Any/all input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

ATCMickey

We had room 7012 this past Sept. and loved it. It seemed a little noisy at time in the am...with fellow cruisers passing in the hallway...but I'd guess if you had loud people next to you...you'd get that anywher. There's not alot of foot trafic...because it's off at the end with nowhere to go. And it's close enough to the forward elevators but not so close you get the noise. We liked it so much we rebooked next to it for Oct 05...we didn't pick the exact room just beacuse were going with my parents and decided to go for the joining room in the same area. But over all...it's a great location. From what I can tell those rooms are right above the "Magic/Wonder" sign that is on the port side of the ship.

I just wanted to clairfy...that when I said it was noisy...I just meant the familys that passed by the door in the early AM were loud...overall the room was wonderful.

DW, DS(6 at the time) and I stayed in 7014 on the 1/11/2003 Eastern. Loved it. Had stayed in another Cat. 8, 7004, on a previous Wonder cruise. I will differ with the above poster about noise--as he suspected, must have been just because of the bad luck of having someone noisy nearby, because there is not much through-traffic at all when you are up front on Deck 7. I think we had to have someone fix the "head" on Day 1, perhaps even before leaving the dock, but other than that it was all good so far as the room accomodations and workings. From 7 it is a quick two flights of stairs (no elevator waiting) to deck 9 and the pools, though you will have to think of the ship-length stroll to the beverage station all the way aft as "exercise". A quick two flights down to the kids clubs, and then just one or two more to the restaurants. We only used elevators at the end of a beach day when re-boarding on deck 1. We have booked 7012 for another Eastern this April (I guess 7014 was already taken) and also made a Cat. 8 reservation for the Wonder this month that has since been upgraded to 7132, but we'd have been happy in the original 7502.

Enjoy, and have fun doing something with the $ saved by not having to pay for a verandah.

Scrapperjill & Logan1,

Thanks for the responses. Interesting you mentioned the verandah. We were thinking the same thing. I'm sure they're great and one day we'll give it a shot, but we couldn't justify the extra DVC points to put out for one. I'm probably over paranoid, but with our young kids, I just have nightmares about the idea of one going over the railing of a verandah. We definitely wanted the outside view, but figured they'd be safer looking through a window than over a railing. More importantly though, we figured our time in room will be limited and we'd rather save the points by not having the verandah and have more points availabe for another (future :D ) cruise.

Thanks again for the info,

ATCMickey

We were booked for 7014 on the Wonder last month, but found out we were upgraded when we checked in at the port... to 7104. Had to do a double-take on that #! Anyway, deck 7 is a great place, either forward or aft... so close to everything by a couple flights! You will like being by the elevators and stairs. Have a great time!

Just to clarify...I wasn't saying there was alot of people traffic noise...I was just saying that around the same time each morning...when a certian family in one of the few cabins ahead of us would get up and start their day...they were not real quiet as they passed by our door...not that it was real bothersom...we could just hear them out there. As a matter of fact...I never even saw or heard anyone else in the hallway the whole week....just every morning as they would start their day.

We liked that area so much we rebooked in rooms 7004 & 7006 for a Western this year. We wanted to get the same room...but decided to go for the adjoining rooms up the hall.

Sorry if there was some confussion or my comments on the location sounded missleading. Guess I should have kept it simple and said...Loved the location...quiet...close to the elevators...highly recomend that area.

Our first DCL cruise was on the Wonder in 7004, myself, DW and DS (6 at the time), and in 7006 was DSIL, DBIL, Dniece 5 and Dnephew 3. The connecting doors were closed for sleeping only, so the kids treated it like a suite to run back and forth when we were in the staterooms, and DFIL and DMIL were down in 5004.

Only good memories, even with all those in-laws, and since then I have become a junkie, 7004 on the Wonder rates definite two thumbs up for all the reasons you already know. And wishing you REALLY QUIET fellow hallway mates up front on deck 7.

You had a better deck 7 upgrade than we did--we got bumped up to a verandah, but we got a solid wall verandah but not one of the solid wall staterooms that have extra room. Still, we'll take it and enjoy or first sampling of verandah at no extra $.
