Rookie question

I am not sure what I need to do here. I know where I want to stay and when, but do I look for points to rent, or do I look for Reservation for rent? If I need points, does the seller automatically handle any reservations?

You can look at posts for either. Reservation for Rent posts are limited to the travel dates being within the next 30 days. Points for Rent basicaly is saying that you contact the owner, and they will make a new reservaton for you for your dates, if those dates are available.

The DVC Owner, in both cases, would be handling the reservation. adding the Dining Plan, if desired, and making your Magical Express reservations.

If you opt for a Dining Plan, you pay Disney directly for that plan when you check-in, NOT the owner, but it must be linked into your reservation by the DVC Owner at least 48 hours prior to you arrival date.

You don't actually rent points. You are purchasing a reservation that the member made with their points. They fully control the reservation until the moment you check in. You won't be able to confirm with Member Services. The member should give you a copy of the reservation sheet once they get a copy.

Disney doesn't get involved if there is a problem; it's between you and the owner of the points.
