Hello Everyone! :D

This here is my first post (ahem---my name is Shannon and I too, will be going on a DISNEY CRUISE!!).

So here is my first question:

I am wondering if anyone has purchased the "Romance at Sea" package. It costs $299 and includes:

Romantic gift amenity in stateroom

Couples massage at the spa

Priority sitting at Palo (notice no apostrophe with a s ;))

Romance turndown service

Champagne breakfast in bed

"FOR ONLY $299!!!!!!!!" (in my game show announcer voice)

So, those of you that have purchased this package, is it worth it?
I can't remember the exact amount, but I looked up the amount of a couples massage---and it was around $169----so I just want to hear from some of you veterans to let me know if this is a must!

Thanks,

Shanno:tongue: :sunny: :sunny:

I also am interested in what others have to say. It will be our 23rd anniversary while on board and would like to treat ourselves. Thank You! :love2:

I am also interested in what others have to say. We are taking our first cruise 12/18/03. Our 14th anniversary is 12/31. I'm thinking it would be a nice treat. I also like the idea of having a guarantee reservation at Palo.

I'm curious too! I was also thinking about the Romance Package, although our cruise won't be very romantic (traveling with 3&5 yo DSs!). I liked the guaranteed Palo reservation & we planned to have a couples massage anyway.

Still trying to decide if $299 is worth it.

but you have no idea what the surpise gift is etc... i wouold love ot hear if anyone has done it.

First things first.
Welcome Shannon

I am also considering it, but want to hear from someone who has experienced it first.

There must be someone out there who has done it. :earsgirl:

I am not sure if this starts until after Jan 1 2004. I was looking at
the one for the Land and Sea and say avaliable Jan 1, 2004.

I am thinking about it too, the Land & Sea cost $599.00
but you also get dinner at a signature restruant (anybody know
which ones would qualify?) Tickets to see Cirque du Soleil and a carriage ride with Champagne. Sounds like great fun!!!

Wonder if we could take our DD age 6 on the carriage ride with
us ???? How's that for romance!!

Hello everyone! I just want to let you know I was considering this, however decided against it because it was cheaper to do it all on my own. First of all, turn down service happens anyway! And the priority seating at Palo you can do too for $5/each. The champagne, depending on the type can be around $40 if they include the strawberries and cakes with it. I do not know how much the gift in the room is though. So, you add the couples massage for $169 + Palo $10 + Champagne $40 = $219. Now, depending on the gift, which I highly doubt is worth $80, it is cheaper to do it on your own. However, with the package, they take care of it all for you. So, if you want to pay for them to do it for you, then it may be worth it to you. I personally did it all on my own and was not a hassle at all. Hopes this helps!

Hi again!

Doing it on your own makes total sense if that is all there is. I am a "do it on your own" kinda-girl traveler.

I was under the impression though, that the "romance turndown service" was something extra special (say rose petals on the bed or something). Also, it has an asterik by the lines of "Romantic gift amenity" and "Champagne breakfast in bed". When you read below on the fine print, it states you must be 21 or older. I assumed one would get two bottles of champagne.

It seems to me that there is a lot of pre-cruisers that are wondering about this. (Romance with kids?! Ha we also have two to tow aroung 5 and 2!)

Oh the wonder of it all!?!?! Isn't that half the fun? Planning, wondering, thinking, (ok, obsessing) about the trip.

Maybe there is someone out there that has done this.
::yes::

Shanno

PS thanks for the welcome

I am not completely sure about the turn down service, you could be right about the rose petals or something like that. And I thought the champagne was one bottle with 2 glasses, but again...I could be wrong. The best thing to do would probably be to just call and get all the details. Ask them what is so special about the turn down service, one or two bottles of champagne and so on. And definitely ask what the stateroom gift is.

How do you get priority seating at Palo for $5 ???

It doesn't cost anything to get the priority seating. But, it does cost an extra $5/person to go to Palo, basically that pays for the waiters tip since it is not your normal wait staff. They just charge it to your room.

When we were on the Magic in 2001, I purchased a romance package for DW and myself. I don't remember the price being 299 though. It was more it 169 or 199. That included: a massage for 2 or any other price equal spa treatments, champagne, snacks (chips, chocolates, etc.) and advance reservations at Palo. I liked it because with a DS (7) at the time, I really wanted to go to Palo on a certain night and time. I was able to make all palo reservations (tea, brunch, dinner) about 2 weeks before we sailed.
