Rolling FP+ after AP upgrade

Here's my situation: DH and I are traveling to WDW on 12/27. We currently have 5-day hoppers, but we plan to upgrade to APs when we arrive. We are planning another trip on 1/31/19 (25th Anniversary :lovestruc). I am getting ready to make resort reservations for that trip, and I'm wondering if there is a scenario where I might be able to book FPs at 60 days without buying more passes, since we aren't upgrading until December? Am I going to have to wait and book after we begin the first trip?

I'm fairly sure you won't be able to book the FP for the 2nd trip until you have the AP recorded in MDE.
You are limited to days of FP for the number of days you have tickets. So you book 5 days for the first trip, there's no days left to book for the 2nd trip

Thanks. That's what I was thinking, too. I guess we'll just have to hope we get lucky with some 36-day FPs.

Suggestion - don’t do FPS for one of your days in the 1st trip. Yes, it’s a sacrifice, then you can book one day in the second trip at the 60 day mark for the hard to get FPS.

Or if you are buying tickets from Disney, you can purchase an AP over the phone. You get a voucher. May be the voucher can be linked to your account so you can do all the FPS. I’m not sure if this possible, but it never hurts to ask.

Or book club level and you can buy the club FPS now for the 2nd trip and get all the hard to gets and be able to book your regular FPS too.

I’m out of ideas for now. Have fun.

Will the CL FP work if you have no ticket entitlements left?

I just called DSS. You need to have a ticket to book all FPS. Just realized that my last suggestion above won’t work.
