Like many others, I have recently rediscovered roller skating as a lockdown activity, as a lone adult. 🛼
I am based in UK where there are limited resources, but I’ve been following some great tutorials on YouTube from the US. I particularly love The Dirty School of Skate, which is so fun and friendly (and not what it sounds like!! 😆).
When I can finally return to Orlando I’d love to go to a rink and maybe have a few professional lessons for fun. Are you aware of any and do you have any recommendations? 😊

I would try to Google it. I don't personally know of any roller rinks.

There are two ice rinks in the Orlando area.

One is the RDV Sportsplex Ice Den, which has 3 rinks, one of which is reserved for hockey. That's just off I-4 in Maitland, north of Orlando. It's a bit far from WDW, but not so bad if you're at Universal. https://rdviceden.com/

The other is the Ice Factory in Kissimmee, with is much more convenient to WDW. Unless they've upgraded recently, they have one regulation rink and one smaller "Opera" rink. The small rink is okay for little kids and new skaters, but it's too small to actually do much skating. https://www.icefactory.com/

Both rinks have open public skating sessions where anyone can skate, and they both rent skates. Both also have fun DJ nights on the weekends. Both rinks also have professional coaches who provide either private lessons or group classes. For beginners, the group classes are perfect.

Thank you, that’s really helpful as a guide of what I should look for and ask. I really appreciate your help. 😄

As someone who is very bad at both, I can tell you that roller skating is MUCH easier than ice skating. Wood is also MUCH softer than ice!

Hi HelsBels. Im not sure where you would be staying but these are the two I know of.

I haven’t been to either in a VERY long time so I am not sure how they are now. Good luck on your skating journey! You’ll be on a roller derby team in no time 😊

Probably the most active roller rink in the greater Orlando area is Skate Reflections in Kissimmee; they have a roller-figure-skating club based there, and they have lessons as well.

This link will hang up if you try to click on it here, so you'll need to cut and paste it directly into your browser: http://www.skatereflections.com
