We're planning our first Universal trip in Sept, but are veteran Disney goers. I am not a thrill seeker. I love Thunder Mountain and the Mine ride, but Space Mountain is my limit. Expedition Everest is beyond me.

What rides should I avoid at Universal? I'm trying to build my itinerary, and am waaaay out of my depth.

RRR and the Hulk and Dragon Challenge are the only roller coaster thrill rides in my opinion

Cross those 3 off your to do list

The rides that have coaster features compared to BTMRR would be
Mummy which is half attraction and half ride and ....drawing a blank now

Mummy has a minute coaster ride at the end
I would compare it to btmrr for speed and curves/dips

Check the ride sections out to get a good description of rides in the parks

YouTube the rides also to watch them in action

Flight of the Hippogriff is a tame coaster. HP and The Forbidden Journey isn't a coaster, per se, but it does have some sharp movements and has been known to give some people motion sickness.

I've never ridden Gringots, so I can't help with that one.

Gringotts is not any scarier than Space Mountain. We love it and we are not roller coaster people
In fact we don't care for Space Mountain at all and love Gringotts & the Mummy at Universal. The Mummy jerks you around a bit, my neck tweaked a little last summer riding it but man is it fun

Space Mountain in WDW is VERY jerky and kinda painful. Space Mountain in Disneyland is SO Much better. It's smoother, the seats are way more comfortable, and the sound is synced with the ride.

It depends what you don't like about Everest. If it's the drop RRR may look intimidating but really is not. The drops are shorter than Everest. Hulk and Dragon's Challenge are more fast and intense. My favorite is Hulk at Universal. I love the fast acceleration at the beginning. My husband doesn't like coasters and the only one he won't ride ever is RRR. He will ride Hulk and Dragon's Challenge once each and that's it.

I think the drop for Dudley Do Right is scarier!

I must admit I've never ridden the two water rides in comic book land in the many years I've been going to Universal. I rode Kali River Rapids once and got so wet I might as well have jumped in the river so I avoid that type of ride.
