It's been a REALLY busy weekend. Today was dedicated to cleaning the house. My flocked Mickey tree has been up & I put the lights inside around my window & animated Mickey & Minnie are sitting in the window. I still need my son to put up the outside lights but the windchill is probably around 10 today.

The EAGLES are playing. GO EAGLES:bounce: :bounce:

Hope you all are getting ready for the holidays in whatever way makes it special for you.

Laurie: I received my list. My present is wrapped & ready to go!

Have a great week! :earsgirl: Jeanne DD#2

Hi all, hope everything is great with everyone. Susan, get to that Doctor promptly! Don't want you sick for the holidays.

No Lori, never owned a turkey fryer just reaped the benefits. Yummy. Somehow my BIL makes a cajun turkey. I remember when my kids were "nutso" around Christmas. It made me nutso as well.

Hey, with John a jeweler, does that mean some lucky family will get diamonds and sapphires? LOL

The computer dummy has a question. Is it hard to put all your smileys on? Your posts are always so cute and I want to join in.

I am known for my peanut brittle. It is now time to make about 8 batches. Have to admit that it is good but darn, now everyone expects it. That keeps me out of trouble for awhile.

Gotta go do some research on the internet now. See ya!

Lori - My brother has a turkey fryer and that's how he did our turkey this Thanksgiving. I think he puts cajun seasoning on it and then fries it in peanut oil. I'll ask him for sure and let you know. It was good - plus you have your oven free for other things. Also, I WILL be going to the doctor tomorrow. This has gone on way tooooo long!

You all are making me look really bad with your decorating. I'm not even sure when I will get to it. We have the wedding rehearsal next Friday, the wedding on Saturday, and Turner has a birthday party to go to on Sunday. I have to get well just to get through it all. Idid go to the shower today and she got a lot of goodies for their new house.

Julie - are the Browns so bad that they couldn't beat the Carolina Convicts (I mean, Carolina Panthers). The team is sooooo bad and they can't stay out of trouble! Hope you all didn;t get too cold. I thought surely you would be coming home from a winning Browns game.

Ok. I ended up doing deep cleaning rather than putting the tree up. At least the house will be ready when I get back from WDW so I can put it up, between laundry that is.

Sandy_ I LOVE peanut brittle!!!!!!!! If you have me for the holiday gift exchange the heck with an ornament I'll take peanut brittle!

Laurie- if you have me my birthstone is sapphire!!!! LOL See what you started Sandy? It doesn't take much to get me started.

I am still trying to figure out how to safely ship the Christmas exchange. I think I will visit the Post Office tomorrow to see what they offer for packaging.

Well back to cleaning despite the time of night it is.

Eagles were winning last I saw. Are they still???

I don't know about you guys but Sleeping Beauty and the prince are making me very dizzy!!! I'll have to look for another one tomorrow night.

Trying to put up the tree while Kaleigh is finally sleeping. She refused to take a nap today. We went for the hard stuff...... a car ride, works every time. So, Jerry is putting the lights on the tree as we speak.

Colorado people & anyone else: Jerry has a question. Do you get different types of snow? We get heavy, wet snow from the south and dry, fluffy snow from lake effect.

I am still fighting this darned sore throat, but Kaleigh seems fine so far (everything crossed!).

We finally got to watch our 10-12 video. Now we need to watch the 10-19 video.

Julie: I hope you didn't freeze at the game. Man, it's cold outside!

Jewelry for the gift exchange??? LOL!!!

I would say between the Midori Pound Cake and Sandy's recent mention of peanut brittle, maybe we need to think about a recipe exchange!!! :p

IT IS FREEZING HERE!!!!!

Later .................

We normally get the dry snow in the winter months and the wet heavy in the spring....for Christmas I would settle for any kind but we usually don't get snow at Christmas. I can't say for Denver but that is the way it is in the Springs.

Extremely unlikely we will have snow in Charlotte for Christmas. We're lucky to see snow once or twice a year. Occasionally we get the good stuff, I'm talking about 8 inches or more. Usually our snows are 3-5 inches. Wet or dry doesn't matter to us as long as we get some snow we'll be happy.

I like the idea of a recipe exchange. Especially if anyone has QUICK & EASY recipes. I'll share the Midori Pound Cake with anyone who wants it; if I haven't already - I don't remember.

I thought it was my cough medicine making me dizzy. Maybe it is sleeping beauty and the prince! LOL

With all the talk about snow, I thought I'd add one more post before I log off.

Well the counting went well although I thought my head was going to explode at the end of it, especially as people seem to want to have as many boxes of everything open at once (even more to count!). Also you try counting those stir sticks! I checked my schedule and yes I'm down to do it at the end of this month (yes NEW YEARS EVE!!!), I'm scheduled to work until 10pm but at least I have New Years Day Off!

Right well I must fly, and try and go to sleep (I keep going to bad far too late)

Also I've got to stop randomly logging onto the internet as I always seem to end up on Disney Cruise web sites...

Just to get you into the seasonal mood....

Grandma got run over by a reindeer,
Walking home from our house Christmas Eve,
You may say you don't believe in Santa,
but as for me and Grandpa we believe!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Past my bedtime all.
Darren get to bed!!!!!!!!! It's late over there!

You all won't believe what I just did. The Dudettes are gonna shoot me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! We have thawed completely! It was 25 degrees with a wind chill factor of 7! It was great football weather! We would have beat the Convicts but the refs made them the winners! We seem to get refs who miss calls (I mean REALLY MISSED several today). With two minutes left in the game Browns threw an interception, Carolina fumbled and we picked it up for a touchdown, BUT the idiot refs said it was an uncompleted pass! UNBELIEVABLE! Oh well *@(! happens and always to Cleveland teams!

What did you do Bonnie? DO tell!

Where did you find the cute Christmas smilies?

Ok Laurie! If you have us in the exchange, I'm not picky......diamonds, rubies, etc. It doesn't matter. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets. I'll be happy with anything.:teeth:

Recipe exchange? But I would like all of the recipes. HOW about...................OCT. 19th Cruisers COOKBOOK? Thsat could be yummy!

Well, gonna go! I'll check back in later!

Here's the link Julie. http://www.clicksmilies.com/
I only wish I read German.

A little hint to all... If you right click on an image then click on Properties you will get the link to were it came from. You can then copy and paste the link.

Good night again.

Glad to see that the best of American culture makes it across the Atlantic!

We were sinking fast on the boards so I figured I better post. I'm tired and disappointed. Another Cleveland sports team gets our hopes up and then dashes them. Haven't seen a championship in Cleveland in my lifetime. The Browns won the championship in 1964, but I was too young to remember. I swear, the city's sports teams are cursed.

Oh well, there's always next year...and the year after that...and so on and so on...

P.S. -- Bonnie, so it's the twirling characters that made you that way, huh?

Oh yeah! It worked! I don't know if I'll keep this one, but at least I figured it out!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! It is very cold here in Ohio! I love it! I like bundling up in warm blankets and looking outside at the beautiful white snow. I would love if we got more! I love having snow for Christmas. Maybe this year!

So have we decided on an "opening" date for the gifts?

Laurie, if you have my family, we're not picky. Anything in the jewlery department is fine! LOL

Loved the Christmas carol, Darren. Well maybe it's not a carol. But loved it anyway.

Carolina hasn't won in soooo long, the refs were probably trying to give them an early Christmas present!

You can put the smilies in the text of your post as well as in the signature. Maybe now we'll start seeing more cutsies on this thread.

Good morning, Bonnie. Got my java in hand.

TODAY - I'm going to the doctor!!!! I've never been so excited about going to a doctor in my life. Guess you know how bad I really feel.

Later!

Wow you beat me to the posts Sue!

I don't know Julie & Garry...NC won, Eagles won, Green Bay Packers won. We may not be able to talk to the "losers" anymore. LOL

Sue-good luck at the doctors. Keep up updated.

Oh no!!!! I have to pack!

Right I've just dug out the Christmas CD and it's getting it's first playing, boy I'm in that Christmas mood now!
