The character situation is what would most disappoint me
Liberty Tree Tavern was a character meal but I think honestly it was never a huge hit. It was always one of those you could get at the last minute and also one of the more expensive ones. with the specialty costumes and two other very popular character meals in the MK (crystal palace and the castle) I can kind of see why it was discontinued. It was always kind of the red-headed stepchild to the other two (or the "hidden gem" that you could get at last minute... but underutilized hidden gems do not make disney a ton of money). It also only had the characters once a day (dinner ONLY) and Disney has moved from less frequent to more frequent character meals (Didn't TH only have characters at breakfast when it first opened or am I misremembering?) Garden Grill used to be only dinner at one point I think before opening for lunch as well and finally breakfast. Disney just added the Holiday Dine series at Hollywood and Vine, with fantasmic package and those characters have rotating specialty costumes, some better than others.
Maybe when it changed to buffet style (which ruined it for me), but when it first opened as The Good Turn, and later as The Land Grille, they served three meals a day. At the time, it was the only in-park breakfast we ever enjoyed.

True! I was sad at first that they removed characters from LTT. But we always went for the food and still go for the food. We'd do the same with TH, unless they seriously mess with the food.
I for one will never spend 2 TS credits on a dining package just to get priority seating and will cancel the Fantasmic package I already have booked if this happens. That being said, I'm sure there are plenty of people who will...look at how popular the dessert parties are.
The Fantasmic! packages are the same number of credits at the restaurants normally are. The Candlelight Processional packages increases the number of credits required.
