Roku?

Does anyone have any opinions on the Roku?
Im looking for the easiest and cheapest way to connect my ipad to our tv so we can watch Netflix and hbogo.
any suggestions other than Roku would be awesome too!

I have a Roku. It is pretty great. Netflix, Hulu Plus, Showtime, HBOGO, it has pretty much any app you would need to watch streaming entertainment on your tv. If you are an Apple guy, you can't easily watch any iTunes Store purchases (since that is what AppleTV is for). Roku is an excellent product. No complaints.

I use an AppleTV.

Its like Roku but Apple minded so you can link your iphone, ipad or macbook up to it wirelessly and watch movies that you have on itunes or watch any movie you watch on your ipad through an app.

I usually load up a movie website in Safari on my ipad then link it up to the appletv and it streams on my TV.

it has netflix, youtube and other apps built into it as well.

if you want to link your ipad, a chromecast will work, not sure how roku links to an ipad....

WARNING: If you have COMCAST/XFINITY, you cannot use the HBOgo app on the roku!!! They are the only cable company that blocks it. Very frustrating to find out as that was the main reason I got the box.

What is the difference between a Roku and Google Chromecast? Can they do the same things?
