Roku for Netflix??

Anyone have this? Any opinions - good, bad indifferent?

I'm thinking of maybe getting this for DH for Christmas as he loves all things electronic and for sometimes we have problems with Netflix DVDs being scratched or skipping or sometimes we just don't want to wait.

We received one as a gift in July and I haven't connected it yet. Between purchased DVDs, Netflix, Comcast On-Demand, DVR recordings, and live programming, we don't need more content.

Since you link it through a wireless router, I assume that you need a fast Internet connection and good signal from the Roku to the router.

I like my gadgets also, but haven't been tempted to install this device yet.

I'm so excited about this. It is my "super secret stealth present" to each of my daughters for Christmas. If I'm lucky, they won't be browsing on the Netflix site or hear anything about it and they will be surprised on Christmas morning. With older teens it is rare to hit on something they will love and that will be a complete surprise!

I have a Netflix account and my college age daughter has her own account. She will have a Roku at school and my younger daughter will use one here at home. They both are addicted to Netflix instant and I am excited to think they can watch movies on a larger TV screen instead of staying huddled over their laptops. DD15 is getting a TV for her bedroom for Christmas also - she has had a 5 inch screen DVD player for many years so I am upgrading her to a TV (no cable, though) for the larger screen.

We have a wireless router in our house so I am hoping this will be as easy as it seems and work flawlessly!! If not, I'm sure I'll be online the next day asking someone how to help.
